Mother / Daughter

It’s an always anticipated thing- picking Mom up at the airport, and it’s happening again tomorrow! It will be nice to see her again after so long. The distance has been difficult to cross these last few years, so times together are treasured.

We’ll have coffee mornings and baking afternoons. We’ll get haircuts and peruse the craft stores. We’ll talk and talk and talk some more. We’ll sit on the porch swing and contemplate our Spring garden plans.

The kids will love on her, and she on them, and there will be conversations about new interests and activities.

At the end of it all, I’ll drop Mom back off at the airport. I’ll drive away, tears dripping over my stoically held eye rims. Sigh. Let’s not think about that just yet!

Here’s to a week of Mother and Daughter time. <3

*This month I’m participating in a writing prompt project, which you can find here-http://writealm.com/november-prompt-a-day/
