Snapshots Of Gratitude
So much to be grateful for this week. My oldest son turned 14. We visited with friends and went to the theater. A beautiful snowstorm left a stunning backdrop. Our home is decorated for the holidays. We cuddled by the fire while watching funny shows, writing, drawing, and painting. We shared delicious food.
As I write about gratitude for the third week in a row, I am also silently listing lack. It takes practice to bring my brain back to a positive place. This is gratitude. I’m choosing to let the good outshine the bad. I’m turning my eye continually to the bright. Right now it takes great effort, but I’m resting in the knowledge that practice usually has us on a ramp toward betterness. My ramp may be of the slightest incline, but I’m on it nonetheless. Onward!
