Lavender eyelet innocence
Airy rosy florals
Speckled seasonal strife
Bright sequined plenty
Shimmering party swath
Dusty poverty sparseness
Scratchy durable repurpose
Silky flimsy desire
Rugged strong love
Sturdy stiff determination
Frayed worn roughness
Ethereal thinness
Ghostly gauzy film
Gentle fleecy warmth
Plush velvet crush

Pieced with how-we-were
Bound with what-we-had
Edged with sum-it-ups
Washed with coulda-beens
Hung on look-at-us

We are
Every single collective stone
Built on sacred land
Textile gene imprint
Stellar expression

We take up mannerisms as weapons and shields
We demonstrate knowledge- applied as balm

The years perhaps change us more
Than we desire them to
In shaking small-town dust off feet
Have we left ourselves behind?

Nomadic Wanderlust Creatures
Moving ever toward more
Yet in us resides a life-chord
Taught and tattered
Infinitely intact
Connecting days years eon ancient
Where did you begin?

The Quilt when viewed expansively
Covers humanity at large
Draping continental cousins
Sweeping ashes left in exhaustion
Interconnected experience
Shared air
Woven times
