Unstitch the ties that bind thy soul
And loose the rivets held
In place by long-term pain escape
Beyond the armor, swell
A heart
A heart!
Shocking crimson sheen
Here flows the truth uncauterized
Boiling past the seam

Thank you so much. Your comment is so impactful. This poem rolled off my tongue this morning in a most powerful way. I feel my heart exploded onto the scene. I appreciate hearing that you felt that as well. <3

Thank you! It was truly from the heart. I woke with this poem on my tongue, and the word Thy is part of how it feels to me. I generally use my blog for free expression, un-edited, as a way to feel and heal.

I took part in a Write Alm feedback group and that was a great learning experience. I submitted two narrative posts. I still need to go back and rewrite them with the feedback I received in mind. I think that will be good for me. I was surprised it was harder to give feedback than to receive it! Amanda’s classes are so great for helping me learn things I didn’t even know I needed to learn! 😀

          • I’m just getting back into this writing thing so there’s plenty to learn. Giving serious feedback is hard work and leaves one as vulnerable as or more so than writing ones own original compositions.
