Fallen – The Beauty Of Autumn

tree at Red Rocks

If given a chance
I’d lie under this tree
Which lives beside a road
That stretches out
Winding and weaving
Around and under
Red Rock monoliths and arches

autumn leaves at red rocks

With spine on asphalt
And eyes wide open
I’d look up into treasure
Waiting until each and every
Paper coin had fallen
Leaving their home limbs
To cover my own

    1. Thank you! I’m glad you liked it. Feeling uncertain about my nature poetry today, but it seemed to roll of the tongue ok enough to publish. <3

    1. Thank you, dear friend! This Autumn is unseasonably warm, and I was surprised to find this tree with its leaves still intact yesterday! Lovely to catch it as it changes slowly from green to orange.

  1. I’ve had little to no desire to venture into the mountains until your posts over the last year or so. You’re pulling me. One day I’ll scurry these hills with you. 🙂
