The day in, day out challenges of living with PTSD, or other health diagnoses, can wear a person down. Symptoms greet us in the morning, and tuck us in at night. Perceptions are altered by trauma or pain, and life looks a little off. It’s hard. It’s really hard!

For those with PTSD, or other long-term health challenges, recovery is less about arrival, and more about resilience. I call my personal healing journey The Long Haul. C-PTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and PFD (Pelvic Floor Dysfunction) are my primary struggles, and they’re intricately entwined. It takes effort to balance my recovery efforts, as focusing more on one condition can cause the other to worsen. Just writing about this balancing act is making me sweat a little. Complex trauma is complex!

One way to cope with the daily struggles of living with pain or trauma is finding resources and support. Today I am sharing a resource specifically for the PTSD community. Michele Rosenthal, author of three books about trauma recovery sends out Healing Thought Of The Day emails.

Grateful for Michele’s emails every morning!

Often when my phone alarm wakes me up, I’ve only slept a few hours due to hypervigilance and sleep disturbances. I never hit snooze, but I do lie in bed and check my notifications. Michele’s words are always waiting in my inbox, and I find them encouraging after fitful, and even fearful nights!

If you’re interested in waking to supportive words during your PTSD recovery, I highly recommend subscribing to Healing Thought of the Day emails. Click here to sign up. You’re set! Encouragement is on the way!

Trauma recovery is hard, but we’re never alone. When we share our resources, we help each other heal. Thank you for reading, and please feel free to share your mental health and well-being resources in the comments. Keep going, Resilience Rockstars!
