Setting Boundaries is Self-Care
Nonviolent Communication teaches that feelings exist to make us aware of our needs. Identifying our feelings and needs is an important skill, especially for those managing chronic pain. We want to do it all! We want to do it well! And that’s totally unrealistic!
This weekend, let’s try to identify one thing we need, then lean into the work of asking for help, setting limits, or even saying no. Let’s do this for ourselves, and also model this behavior for others. Setting boundaries is self-care, and we’re worth the benefits (rest, pain management, self-preservation) of this uncomfortable work. Keep on, resilient rockstars!
