Shifting my Focus to Practice Gratitude
I won’t try to talk you out of your pain and suffering, and I ask that you let me have mine. Our stories are how we make sense of our lives, and our struggles are valid. But when my trials seem too much to bear, I access tiny pockets of peace by practicing gratitude.
Sometimes practicing gratitude means looking up and noticing light. I use language to hold me in the moment. “I am grateful my house has windows, is surrounded by trees, and keeps me safe, warm, and dry.”
It seems like a small thing, but this slight shift in focus can pull me out of difficult thoughts, allowing space for breathing, grounding, and healing.
I’m wishing you a needs-met sorta Sunday. Keep on, resilient rockstars! <3
