On days when trauma recovery feels tedious, and I’m worn thin from chronic pain, I remember this one powerful thing I can do- I can practice self-kindness.
Think about someone you love. Think of the ways they suffer. Think of how you treat them. Do you give them a hug? Make them a sandwich? Tell them you care?
Today, let’s notice how we show up in the lives of those we love, then practice turning that kindness toward ourselves.
