I woke to sunshine and birdsong, and a text from my guy, who’s flying home today. It’s warm and I opened the windows. Prisms cast rainbows on the walls. Today’s GROK card draw is timely.

February Feelings - Delighted - SoAngieWrites.com

The dictionary defines delighted as feeling great pleasure or satisfaction. It might show up as a smile and a deep breath- a face tipped toward the sun. What a nice feeling.

Our lives are constructed by the stories we tell. As someone who struggles with difficult feelings like shame and anxiety, it’s valuable to name others, like delight, and intrigue. Using a large emotional vocabulary helps me build a healthy story that bolsters my C-PTSD recovery. When I feel overwhelmed by adversity, assured my life is ALL BAD, I can reality check with a statement like this-

I’m engaged in a normal human life, with varied experiences, and loads of feelings. I feel overwhelmed now, but I have also felt delighted.

Thanks for tuning in as I make my way through these February Feelings posts! I’m wishing you a feelings-aware Thursday, with some delight thrown in! 🙂
