February Feelings – Encouraged
It’s the last full week of February and I’m wishing you well. Here’s another post about feelings! 🙂
Today I drew the Encouraged GROK Card.
The origin of the word courage is from the Latin cor, meaning heart. Courage is defined as the ability to do something that frightens you, or displaying strength in the face of pain or grief. Encouragement, then, is when we support each other in our courage. And encouraged is how we feel when we are supported in our courage.
When I feel encouraged, my heart seems brighter. I smile. I feel held. It’s a nice feeling.
We might feel encouraged when we share our struggles and receive empathy, or when we’re about to walk into an appointment, and our loved one grabs our hand. We can help others feel encouraged by being aware of the hardships they are facing, and sending messages of validation and support. We can encourage ourselves, too. With a hand on our heart, or our arms wrapped around in a hug, we can whisper-
I see the hard work you’re doing and I’m proud of you.
Courage work is heart work, and we need support. You help meet this need in me by showing up to read my words. You help me feel encouraged. I appreciate you! 🙂
