Hi, I’m Angie! I grew up in the rural Midwest and now live in the Denver Metro area. As a Highly Sensitive Person and sexual assault survivor with a mental health diagnosis, I feel like a country mouse in a big city, but I’m building the life I want- committed to courageous recovery.
I have a long history with chronic pain, and was diagnosed with Endometriosis at age 15. My health has also been impacted by an eating disorder, Thyroid Disease, neural tension, migraines, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, and multiple food allergies. Whew!
I work hard at coping and healing, utilizing talk therapy and medication. I attend local workshops, take online courses, and read self-help books and blogs. Brené Brown’s The Daring Way methodology is one of my passions, along with Self-Compassion work by Dr. Kristin Neff.
I write about trauma recovery, shame resilience, self-compassion, and coping with chronic pain. I share what I learn from my recovery journey with hope of making connections, and helping others.
Thank you for visiting my blog! I try to answer all comments, and invite you to share your voice when so moved.
